Turnit successfully launched last week in France its long-distance coach reservation and distribution system Turnit Ride for the bus operator Eurolines. It is the first phase of the execution of an extensive contract signed with Transdev, one of the world’s leaders in mobility.
According to Hugo Roncal, the CEO of Eurolines, the implementation of ticket sales system last week was of a significant value for the company. "Customer experience is key for our business, that's why we invest in solutions and partnerships which can help us deliver best-in-class experiences for our passengers. Booking is part of this strategy. As the next step in our fruitful cooperation, after the launch in the French domestic market, we are planning to implement the booking system for our international lines, all over our European subsidiaries”, Hugo Roncal said.
Turnit was announced the winner of the tender of Transdev back in February 2016. According to the CEO of the company, Andres Birnbaum, the first phase was executed timely regardless of the complexity of the project. “French transportation business structure is incredibly complex. The ticket prices and logistics alone are incomparable with those seen in Baltics,” Birnbaum noted. “We can be extremely proud that since last week all French reservations and tickets are sold through the system we created,” said Birnbaum.
According to Birnbaum a significant number of travellers have already used the new sales system in the first week. “It was a good choice to launch the new system in a low season so we can devote the next couple of months to perfecting it before the summer high season reaching potentially around million travellers. And that’s just the first phase,” he added.
Cooperation with such a big enterprise opens many new doors for us, Birnbaum pointed out. “Partnership with Transdev has immense referential value. Quite soon we will be able to reveal new exciting news of other international contracts, which will expand the business even further,” Birnbaum said. In one year the total number of employees of the Estonian company has grown from under ten to 45.
