What does the ISO stand for?
ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 165 national standards bodies.
Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges. (https://www.iso.org/about-us.html)
ISO certification certifies that a management system, service, or documentation procedure has all the requirements for standardization and quality assurance. ISO certifications exist in many areas of industry, from energy management and social responsibility to medical devices and IT services. ISO standards are in place to ensure consistency. Each certification has separate standards and criteria and is classified numerically. As of 2021 Turnit withholds 3 ISO certificates:
ISO/IEC 27001:2017 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.
